EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve the necessary budget amendment to recognize revenue for FY2017
received from the State Aid to Libraries Grant in the amount of $221,236.
OBJECTIVE: To receive approval to budget FY2017 State Aid to Libraries Grant funding in the amount
of $221,236.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Board approved the application for State Aid to Libraries grant program at
their regular meeting on September 27, 2016 (Agenda item 16D9). The Florida Department of State,
Division of Library and Information Services awarded the Collier County Public Library an amount of
$221,236.
These grant funds can be used for any public library need except for building construction. Funds will be
used to purchase library materials, services, equipment, and other library purposes, such as the hiring of
temporary personnel to provide direct services to our Library customers.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is required to recognize grant revenue in the amount of
$221,236 Public Services Grant Fund (709), Project 33488. This grant does not require matching funding.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, raises no legal
issue, and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: To approve a budget amendment recognizing revenue from the State Aid to
Libraries Grant in the amount of $221,236 into Public Services Grant Fund (709), Project 33488 FY2017
State Aid to Libraries.
