WHEREAS, the Collier County Recycling Ordinance Number 2009-56, established the Waste
Reduction Awards Program (the WRAP award); and,
WHEREAS, the WRAP award recognizes businesses, institutions and multi-family residences
for enhanced and innovative recycling programs; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is pleased to recognize Loos d Company,
Inc., for contributing to the greater good of Collier County by advocating the
"Reduce, Reuse, Recycle"message thereby helping to prolong the usable life of
the Collier County Landfill; and,
WHEREAS, The Loos d Company, Inc., recycling, reuse and source reduction program
includes:
• Recycling 2,080 pounds of paper products, 100 pounds of aluminum cans and
200 pounds of plastic containers per year.
• Conserving energy by changing all light bulbs to LEDs with a cost savings of
approximately $800.
• Recycling used oil, saving 660 gallons per year with a cost savings of$7,000.
• Collecting waste coolant and wastewater that are taken to an offsite water
treatment facility and recycled.
WHEREAS, the WRAP award program includes a plaque and space on the County's website
showcasing eco-friendly business practices and recycling programs; and,
WHEREAS, the Solid and Hazardous Waste Management Division congratulates Mr. Richard
Williams, Genera/ Maintenance Manager, of Loos d Company, Inc.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier
County, Florida, that we congratulate
