P R O C L A M A T I O N
WHEREAS, the Collier County Recycling Ordinance Number 2009-56,
established the Waste Reduction Awards Program (the WRAP
award); and,
WHEREAS, the WRAP award recognizes businesses, institutions and multi-
family residences for enhanced and innovative recycling programs;
and,
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is pleased to recognize Loos &
Company, Inc., for contributing to the greater good of Collier
County by advocating the “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” message
thereby helping to prolong the usable life of the Collier County
Landfill; and,
WHEREAS, The Loos & Company, Inc., recycling, reuse and source reduction
program includes:
Recycling 2,080 pounds of paper products, 100 pounds of
aluminum cans and 200 pounds of plastic containers per year.
Conserving energy by changing all light bulbs to LEDs with a
cost savings of approximately $800.
Recycling used oil, saving 660 gallons per year with a cost
savings of $7,000.
Collecting waste coolant and wastewater that are taken to an
offsite water treatment facility and recycled.
WHEREAS, the WRAP award program includes a plaque and space on the
County’s website showcasing eco-friendly business practices and
recycling programs; and,
WHEREAS, the Solid and Hazardous Waste Management Division congratulates
Mr. Richard Williams, General Maintenance Manager, of Loos &
Company, Inc.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of
Collier County, Florida, that we congratulate
LOOS & COMPANY, INC.
