PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the State of Florida is dedicated to improving air quality,
promoting health and physical fitness, reducing traffic
congestion, decreasing energy consumption; and,
WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation, District One,
through its Commuter Services Program, endorses these
goals by promoting the use of alternative commute modes;
and,
WHEREAS, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners and the
Collier Area Transit (CAT) are promoting "Try Transit Day"
on April 21, 2017, to raise awareness of destinations and
routes accessible throughout Collier County via CAT; and,
WHEREAS, CAT will offer free rides on April 21, 2017, to encourage
residents and visitors of Collier County to use public
transit.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County
Commissioners of Collier County, Florida, that April 21,
2017 be designated as
TRY TRANSIT DAY IN COLLIER COUNTY
DONE AND ORDERED THIS 11th Day of April, 2017.
