EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve the use of $5,000 from the Confiscated Property Trust Fund to
support the Boy Scout of America, Southwest Florida Council, Inc.
OBJECTIVE: To request that the Board approve the use of $5,000 to support the Bo y Scout of
America, Southwest Florida Council, Inc.
CONSIDERATION: Boy Scouts of America, Southwest Florida Council, Inc. by virtue of Section
932.7055 (5)(c)1 Florida Statutes is seeking Board authorization for the appropriation of funds for support
of their program operations including special assistance to at-risk youth.
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices
over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
The CCSO requests $5,000 from the Confiscated Trust Funds to be used to support their purposes. This
support will benefit the Boy Scout of America, Southwest Florida Council, Inc.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is needed in the amount of $5,000, reducing Reserves. The
source of funding for this is provided from confiscated property proceeds.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, is approved as to
form and legality, and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK
GROWTH MANAGEMENT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approves the budget amendment to
appropriating $5,000 from the Confiscated Trust Funds for support the Boy Scout of America, Southwest
Florida Council, Inc.

constraints so please knorv your support is making a greal impact in Collier Co. for Scouting. Again,
funds in 2015 rvere uscd lo fund program operations including special assislencc to at-risk youth.
Last ycar this included camperships for Scouts in our lmmokalee troop to attend summer camp.
