EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to correct a scrivener’s error by removing the inclusion of the allowance amount
within the “Site 1(A) Base Bid” referenced in the executive summary on the awarded bid number
16-6688, “Northeast Recycling Drop-off Center,” Project Number 59009, to Wright Construction
Group, with no change to the total award amount.
OBJECTIVE: To correct a scrivener’s error in the executive summary for agenda item 11D approved at
the December 13, 2016, Board of County Commissioners (Board) meeting.
CONSIDERATIONS: On December 13, 2016, the Board awarded bid number 16-6688, “Northeast
Recycling Drop-off Center” Project Number 59009. Due to a scrivener’s error in the Bid Summary
Table, the base amounts for the Building and Site were noted to include allowance amounts of $250,000
and $100,000 respectively. The $100,000 within Site 1(A) Base Bid should not have been included.
FISCAL IMPACT: The total award will remain $7,300,141, which includes a total base amount for
building and site improvements and all alternatives of $7,050,141 and a total allowance amount of
$250,000.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: The development of the Northeast Recycling Drop-off Center
is consistent with the county’s Growth Management Plan, specifically the Solid Waste Sub-Element
Objective 2 (Disposal), Policy 2.4 and Objective 3, (Recycle and Recovery).
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved as to form and legality, and requires majority
vote for Board approval. -SRT
