EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to recognize William Lang, Planner, Floodplain Management, as the March 2017
Employee of the Month.
OBJECTIVE: To recognize the efforts and accomplishments of an employee who has made significant
contributions to the organization or to our community.
CONSIDERATIONS: William Lang, Planner, Floodplain Management has been with the County for
more than 9 years and works for the Growth Management Department.
William was selected by the Employee of the Month Committee because of his dedication to the
organization and the citizens we serve. This became particularly evident when he assisted a homeowner
with a costly flood insurance issue. In addition to his regular responsibilities, William dedicated extra
hours to research, study and analyze the homeowner’s case and determined that the homeowner’s flood
insurance policy was rated incorrectly. He then served as the homeowner’s liaison and initiated
communication with the insurance agency to rectify the situation. As of result of William’s outstanding
customer service, the homeowner was able to save $1,400.00 in flood insurance premiums. William truly
embodies what it means to be a role model of our Collier County Core Values and is very deserving of the
Employee of the Month Award.
FISCAL IMPACT: The selected “Employee of the Month” receives a $150.00 cash award. Funds for
this are available in the employee’s budget cost center.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There are no Growth Management Impacts associated with
this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: To approve the recognition of William Lang as the March 2017 Employee of
the Month.
