EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to authorize a budget amendment in the amount of $66,000 for a variety of
pathway and roadway repairs in various community parks.
OBJECTIVE: To repair and replace pathways and roadways in Parks for public safety.
CONSIDERATIONS: Facilities Management recently sought quotes, under the appropriate fixed term
contract, to repair sidewalks, pathways, and roadways in several community parks. The Facilities
Management Division is responsible for the repair of sidewalks in regional parks and the estimated costs
are $88,619.51, which will be paid from the County Wide Capital Improvement Fund 301.
The Parks and Recreation Division is responsible the repairs of pathways and roadways in both the
community and regional parks through the Parks Capital Improvement Fund 306 and $66,000 is needed
to pay for the community park repairs.
To provide funding and to account for these repairs, it is necessary to create a project for community park
pathway repairs and shift appropriate funding monies into the project to make the much-needed repairs.
FISCAL IMPACT: The total cost for repairing the pathways in the community parks is $66,000. Staff
has prepared a budget amendment transferring $33,000 from the Golden Gate Community Park Pool
Repairs Project 80275 and $33,000 from the Immokalee Pool Repairs Project 80270 into the Pathway and
Roadway Repairs Community Parks Project 80357.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this
item.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved as to form and legality and requires majority vote
for approval. - CMG
RECOMMENDATION: To authorize the necessary budget amendment in the amount of $66,000 to
repair pathways and roadways identified in the community parks.
