Agenda 02/14/2017 Item #16E1002/14/2017 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation to authorize budget amendment, in the amount of $333,085 to fully fund Project #50136: Building C-2 Alterations, for relocation of the Procurement Services Division. OBJECTIVE: To establish a budget to fully fund Project #50136 for the partial renovation of Building C-2. CONSIDERATIONS: Building C-2 was vacated by the Supervisor of Elections in June 2016. The space is being prepared for occupancy by the Procurement Services Division on March 27, 2017. The renovations necessary include additional wall partitions for offices, connectivity to the BCC network, furniture pieces and parts from previous office(s), relocation of the purchasing recording devices, replacement of carpet and other surfaces that have reached their useful life, modification of the air distribution and control systems, and modification to the fire alarms and security systems. Repairs to the plumbing and electrical systems, along with the abatement of Indoor Air Quality deficiencies, will also be addressed. To the extent possible, offices will be reconfigured to meet the County’s vertical standards for space allocation while also meeting the needs of the Procurement Services Division. An owner’s contingency is included to address any unforeseen conditions. FISCAL IMPACT: Budget amendment in the amount of $333,085 from the County Wide Capital Projects Fund 301 Reserves, is needed for the Building C-2 Renovation project (50136). LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, raises no legal issue, and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this Executive Summary. RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners authorizes the necessary Budget Amendment in the amount of $333,085 to complete Project #50136: Building C-2 Renovations.
