A RESOLUTION FOR THE DELETION OF THE
='x CARNIVALS AND EXHIBITIONS FEE AND FOR
�r. " ESTABLISHMENT OF NEW FEES AND FOR AN
s+r' INCREASE IN CERTAIN FEES FOR CONDUCTING
BUSINESS IN THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
4- SERVICES DIVISION AS REQUIRED BY THE COLLIER •
COUNTY LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE.
; WHEREAS, Section 1.10.1, Collier County Land Development Code
(LDC) provides that the Board of County Commissioners shall
f �4 establish and adopt by resolution a schedule of fees and charges
T' for application and document processing,
t 7k p q, public meetings, public
' hearings, other meetings and hearings, transcripts, approvals, .
ti : denials, development permits, development orders, development, .

construction, interpretations, enforcement inspection services,
sales of documents, review, resubmission, and any other zoning or
development related services and any other services provided or
costs incurred by or on behalf of the County; and
V,',,,,, WHEREAS, many operations within the Community Development
Services Division are supported by user fee revenues; and
t, WHEREAS, user fee revenue projections provided by Community . '
! ' ' Development Services staff and staff of the Office of Management '

ji, 4>. and Budget for Fiscal year 93-94 indicate a substantial shortfall
if
. 4 < between revenue and expenditures; and
,;';`; WHEREAS, revenues generated by building,. permit fees
r ,' subsidize, to a large degree, the development review activities
- within the Community Development Services Division; and
yr ,'' WHEREAS, new and increased fees were proposed by Community ,

Development Services staff during budget workshops with the Board
' • of County Commissioners to more equitably compensate for
activities performed by staff pursuant to the LDC, especially
$' within the development review operation; and , '
,°' WHEREAS, staff has reviewed the new and increased fees with
,,i/ the Development Services Advisory Committee; and %
u'', WHEREAS, staff has determined that the carnivals and
exhibitions fee should be deleted because the new temporary use
permit for major special event fee is inclusive of this fee; and

reasonable sums to be assessed to those who receive the benefits
