EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to appoint two members to the Historic/Archaeological Preservation Board
OBJECTIVE: To reappoint one member and appoint one new member to the Historic Archaeological
Preservation Board.
CONSIDERATIONS: This committee is vested with the power, authority, and jurisdiction to designate,
regulate, and administer historical and archaeological resources in Collier County, under the direct
jurisdiction and control of the Board of County Commissioners. Membership is composed of 7 members
from the following categories: a. history; b. archaeology; c. Real Estate, land development, or finance; d.
architecture; e. law or urban planning; and f. 2 citizens at large. Terms are 3 years. A list of the current
membership is included in the backup.
There are currently two vacancies on this committee (the third vacancy noted in the back-up was filled at
the November 15th Board meeting). The vacancies were advertised and applications were received from
the following:

ATTENDANCE: Ms. Perdichizzi has had three absences in the past two years. Attendance records are
attached in the backup to this agenda item.
COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: At their meeting on November 16, 2016, the committee voted
unanimously to recommend that Ms. Perdichizzi be reappointed to the committee, to a three-year term
expiring on October 1, 2019; and that Mr. Miller be appointed to fill the remainder of a vacant term
expiring on October 1, 2017. Recommendation memos are included in the backup.
FISCAL IMPACT: None.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Committee
Recommendation,and directs the County Attorney to prepare a resolution confirming the appointments.
