A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, APPOINTING MARY WALLER TO
THE AFFORDABLE HOUSING ADVISORY COMMITTEE, AND
RECLASSIFYING CURRENT MEMBER JOSEPH K. SCHMITT.
WHEREAS, on July 31, 1991, the Board of County Commissioners adopted Ordinance
No. 91-65 establishing the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 91-65, as subsequently amended, on April 9, 2013 was
repealed and replaced by Ordinance No. 13-27, which recreated and reestablished the Affordable
Housing Advisory Committee in accordance with F.S. § 420.9076. This Advisory Committee
consists of eleven voting members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners based on
the membership categories described in F.S. § 420.9076(2)a.-k.; and
WHEREAS, there are currently two vacancies on this Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners previously provided public notice
soliciting applications from interested parties; and
WHEREAS, staff has provided the Board of County Commissioners with its
recommendation for reclassification and for appointment to this Advisory Committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that member JOSEPH K. SCHMITT,
who currently represents the category Resident in Jurisdiction (420.9076(2)(i.) F.S.), is hereby
reclassified to represent the category Local Planning Agency/CCPC (420.9076(2)(h.) F.S.), and
his term expiration date shall remain October 1, 2018; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that MARY WALLER, representing the category of
Resident in Jurisdiction (420.9076(2)(i.) F.S.), is hereby appointed to the Affordable Housing
Advisory Committee to fill the remainder of a vacant term expiring on October 1, 2017.
