EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to appoint a member to the Animal Services Advisory Board.
OBJECTIVE: To appoint a member to the Animal Services Advisory Board to fill a vacant seat
expiring on April 13,2020.
CONSIDERATIONS: This 7-member board was created on January 27, 2004 by Ordinance No. 2004-
06 to make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on programs, services, classes and
special events that will further assist Collier County Domestic Animal Services in providing the best
possible service to the community. They also analyze and review construction and improvements to
Domestic Animal Services facilities and make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners
regarding such facilities. Terms are 4 years.A list of the current membership is included in the backup.
Dr. Robin Fox, representing the Humane Society, has resigned. The vacancy was advertised and the
following application was received(which was endorsed by the Humane Society):

reviewed the above application and unanimously endorsed Patrice Worcester, representing the Humane
Society, for appointment to the advisory board, to fill a vacant term expiring on April 13, 2020. A
recommendation memo is included in the backup to this item.
FISCAL IMPACT: None.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Committee
Recommendation,and directs the County Attorney to prepare a resolution confirming the appointment.

reviewed Patrice Worcester application for the vacant ASAB Humane Society Naples position.
During the meeting, all six of the current board members were present.
The ASAB who was present at the meeting endorsed Patrice Worcester, Director of Shelter
Operations for Humane Society Naples, for the position.
