Dear Abe. I do not believe I have filed for either the Homestead or the Senior
exemptions.
Homestead Exemption: Do not have an application. Did not know about this
exemption. Am 77 years old. Cannot pay bills any more. Bookkeeper opens all
mail and pays all bills. She uses p.o.box 2623, Avila beach, ca 93424 for all
correspondence. Buried my wife in September last year. Took me a year to get
my wits back. Am appealing the late filing cutoff. Would like the County to grant
me exemption. Have enclosed a check for $15. The home is my permanent
residence, however I leave in the summer due to the humidity. I have owned for
two years.
Senior Homestead Exemption: my tax returns reflects 0 income. Yes I get social
security, but a loss carry forward reduces my social security income from $30,000
to O.
