EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Proclamation designating September 2016 as Immokalee Soccer Pit Cobras Month in Collier
County, in celebration of the success of the Immokalee Soccer Pit Cobras U17 Boys as champions
in Division 1 of the USA League, champions of the Florida Region C and President's Cup, winners
of the Region III Championship held in College Station, Texas, and for advancing to the
President's Cup National Title game in Tulsa, Oklahoma. To be accepted by Coach Manny
Touran,Assistant Coaches Manuel Preciado& Saintano Damas and the Soccer Pit Cobras team.
PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, The Immokalee Soccer Pit Cobras are a competitive soccer club
with 5 teams representing Immokalee; and,
WHEREAS, The Under 17 boys team were Champions in Division 1 of the
USA League, won the Region C Cup in the Florida Champions
Series, advancing to the Florida President's Cup Regional Playoffs
and winning the Championship of that competition; and,
WHEREAS, The team advanced to Region III Championship in College
Station, Texas, playing against 11 other states in the southern
region, beating Tennessee in the semi-finals and North Carolina
in the finals by a score of 4-0; and,
WHEREAS, Immokalee Soccer Pit Cobras' own Kensley Jean Baptiste was the
tournament leading goal scorer with 7 goals; and,
WHEREAS, The Immokalee Soccer Pit Cobras advanced to Tulsa, Oklahoma
to play for the National Title and took the Championship game
against Utah into double-overtime before losing 3-1.
WHEREAS, With the leadership and dedication of their organizer Manny
Touron, the support of the Immokalee community, the 1 by 1
Leadership Foundation, and the efforts of each of these fine
young athletes, we wish to congratulate and celebrate their
success that brought them into the national spotlight.

NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of
Collier County, Florida, that September 2016 be designated as
Immokalee Soccer Pit Cobras Month in Collier County
