A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY,FLORIDA
AMENDING EXHIBIT "A" TO RESOLUTION NO. 2013-239, THE LIST OF SPEED LIMITS ON
COUNTY-MAINTAINED ROADS,TO REFLECT A TEMPORARY REDUCTION OF THE SPEED LIMIT
ON COUNTY ROAD 901 / VANDERBILT DRIVE, FROM 400' SOUTH OF THE BEGIN PROJECT
LIMITS TO 400' NORTH OF THE END PROJECT LIMITS FROM THIRTY-FIVE (35) MILES PER
HOUR TO TWENTY(20)MILES PER HOUR DUE TO A CONSTRUCTION PROJECT(Project 66066.11).
WHEREAS, pursuant to Florida Statute, Chapter 316, Collier County Ordinance No. 91-25, as
amended, and Resolution number 2013-239, the Board of County Commissioners ("Board") has the
authority to establish and alter speed limits by a resolution filed with the Clerk to the Board that creates a
single comprehensive codification of all speed limits on county-maintained roads; and
WHEREAS, the Board finds that there is a continuing need to enact and change speed limits
throughout the County in accordance with changing needs and circumstances, including temporary road
construction projects, in conformity with criteria promulgated by the State Department of Transportation;
and
WHEREAS, it is the purpose of this Resolution to amend Exhibit"A" to Resolution No. 2013-239
to reflect a temporary reduction of the speed limit on: County Road 901 /Vanderbilt Drive, from 400' South
of the Begin Project limits (approximately 820' south of bridge number 030178 mid-span) to 400' North of
the End Project limits (approximately 566' north of the Marina Bay Club driveway centerline), from thirty-
five(35)miles per hour to twenty(20)miles per hour due to construction.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY,FLORIDA as follows:
1. The Board of County Commissioners hereby restates and reauthorizes all prior-approved
speed limits on Collier County-maintained roads,which have been compiled and attached as Exhibit"A."
2. Exhibit "A" to Resolution No. 2013-239, as amended and attached hereto, is specifically
amended to reflect a reduction of the speed limit on: County Road 901 /Vanderbilt Drive,from 400' South of
the Begin Project limits (approximately 820' south of bridge number 030178 mid-span)to 400' North of the End
Project limits(approximately 566' north of the Marina Bay Club driveway centerline), from thirty-five(35)miles
per hour to twenty(20)miles per hour due to construction
3. This Resolution shall be filed with the Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners
consistent with the requirements to maintain a single, comprehensive codification of all speed limits on
County-maintained roads. Further changes to speed limits on County-maintained roads shall be made by
resolution with an amendment to Exhibit"A."
4. The effective date of the speed limit shall be after written notification to the Sheriff's Office
and posting of the appropriate signage.
