EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve and authorize the Chairman to sign a required Application for
Federal Assistance for the HOME Program.
OBJECTIVE: To expend federal funds to assist the citizens of Collier County.
CONSIDERATIONS: On June 28, 2016 the Board of County Commissioners approved item 16D23
approving Collier County’s HUD 2016-2017 Action Plan. As part of that approval certain forms and
certifications were approved and signed by the Chairman.
After approval, HUD informed Collier County that the Amount of HOME funding available to Collier
County had been increased from $477,136 to $479,663, an increase of $2,527.
A revised Application for Federal Assistance Form SF -424 is required to be executed with the updated
amount.
Approval of this item will authorize the Chairman to sign the aforementioned updated SF-424 form.
Approval of the following documents by the County Manager is subject to formal ratification by the
Board of County Commissioners. If the decision by the County Manager is not ratified by that Board, the
document(s) shall be enforceable against Collier County only to the extent authorized by law in the
absence of such ratification by that Board.
FISCAL IMPACT: The acceptance of the additional funds will have no effect on ad valorem do llars.
Approval will increase Collier County’s FY2016-2017 HOME allocation by $2,527 for a total allocation
of $479.663. A subsequent Board action will be forthcoming to appropriate the HUD funds within the
Housing Grant Fund (705).
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: Acceptance and implementation of this amendment will
further the Goals, Objectives, and Policies of the Housing Element of the Growth Management Plan.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved as to form and legality and requires a majority
vote for Board approval. - JAB
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approve and authorize the
Chairman to sign a required Application for Federal Assistance for the HOME Program.
