Backup Documents 12/09/2014 Item # 4A 4 A PROCLAMA TION WHEREAS, Seacrest Country Day School has been delivering an outstanding educational program for 30 years; and WHEREAS, Seacrest provides a superior college-preparatory education, emphasizing academics, life skills, services, technology, the arts, and most notably for this proclamation, physical education and athletics; and WHEREAS, athletics are an important element in the overall education of Seacrest Country Day School's well-rounded students; and WHEREAS, through hard work, dedication, teamwork, and perseverance, the Lady Rays claimed the first ever Seacrest State Championship in any sport by winning the FHSAA State 2A Crown in 2013; and WHEREAS, the Lady Rays became the first Collier County volleyball team to win a state championship; and, WHEREAS, Seacrest did not rest on its laurels after winning the state championship in 2013; and, WHEREAS, Seacrest ended its impressive 2014 season as the FHSAA class 2A State runner up. NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida, that the Seacrest Country Day School Girls Volleyball Teams of 2013 and 2014 are recognized for their outstanding athletic achievements.
