EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to adopt a Resolution recognizing and accepting a$20,000 donation from Thomas
and Nancy Hester for the purchase of outdoor furniture at the Tony Rosbough Park and approve
all necessary budget amendments.
OBJECTIVE: To provide outdoor furniture at the little league field within the Tony Rosbough Park.
CONSIDERATIONS: On April 9, 2016, at the grand opening of Tony Rosbough Park's new T-ball
field, Collier County Parks and Recreation was given a donation of $20,000. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
Hester contacted staff several months ago after reading an article in the Naples Daily News in regards to
the lack of ball fields in the Immokalee area for our Little League children. They wanted to help with a
donation to assist with the needs of the park and help the Immokalee Little League so the park would
have some amenities for its users.
Mr. and Mrs. Hester share a passion for providing recreational opportunities to the children of
Immokalee. Their $20,000 donation will be help the Division purchase river rock tables for the
concession area,bleachers and,if funding allows, a small shade structure.
FISCAL IMPACT: This donation from Mr. and Mrs.Hester of$20,000 will be recognized and budgeted
in the Parks and Recreation Donation Fund(607).
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: The County Attorney has reviewed this item and approved it as to form
and legality. Majority support of the Board is required for approval. -JAK
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this
item.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the attached Resolution
formally accepting and recognizing the donation of funds by Mr. and Mrs. Hester to purchase outdoor
furniture for the Tony Rosbough Little League Park and approves all necessary budget amendments.

RESOLUTION NO.2016-
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMNIISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA,
RECOGNIZING AND ACCEPTING A $20,000 DONATION
FOR THE PURCHASE OF OUTDOOR FURNITURE AT
THE TONY ROSBOUGH PARK.
WHEREAS, Collier County Resolution No. 2009-48 declares a public purpose for the
solicitation,receipt,and expenditure of donations to the Parks and Recreation Division;and
WHEREAS,at the April 9, 2016 grand opening of the Tony Rosbough Park tee-ball field
in Immokalee, Thomas and Nancy Hester presented a $20,000 donation to the Parks and
Recreation Division to assist with the needs of the new facility;and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Hester support the County's efforts to provide recreational
opportunities to the children of lmmokalee, and it is the intent of the Parks and Recreation
Division to use this generous donation to purchase outdoor furniture such as tables, bleachers,
and possibly a small shade structure; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners finds that there is a compelling public
purpose to accept and use this donation to improve this new park facility.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board of County
Commissioners hereby accepts and recognizes the $20,000 donation from Thomas and Nancy
Hester to benefit the Tony Rosbough Park.
