PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the country of France has developed wonderful connections with Southwest Florida
and Collier County on delegates'past visits to our region; and,
WHEREAS, Collier County and its Office of Business and Economic Development have worked to
develop a world-class environment and business culture that supports startup and
innovation companies from across the world; and,
WHEREAS, Collier County has consistently welcomed with great pleasure French companies,
businesses and entrepreneurs seeking to develop business opportunities in our region;
and,
WHEREAS, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners approved the promotion of an
inbound development mission organized by the state-sponsored network in France,
RETIS; and,
WHEREAS, the objective of the inbound business development mission is to promote Collier
County and recruit international companies to the region; and
WHEREAS, the mission includes a three day training camp during which the visiting French
executives will interact with local experts, advisors and potential partners and
investors; and
WHEREAS, RETIS has established a successful executive training program for innovative French
companies willing to expand to the United States, which could be headquartered in
Collier County; and
WHEREAS, Collier County strongly endorses this type of international partnership and endeavor
and looks forward to hosting French companies and facilitating strategic linkages
between our companies and organizations that enable them to be successful in
growing their business opportunities; and,
WHEREAS, Collier County is pleased French trade group RETIS has come back to our County
for the third straight year, helping establish a long-term connection between our
community and French entrepreneurs and universities.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed that the Collier County Board of County Commissioners hereby
declares May 23-25, 2016, be designated as
COLLIER RETIS SYMPOSIUM DAYS
DONE AND ORDERED THIS 24th Day of May 2016.
