EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to authorize a budget amendment to fund landscape architectural services for SR
84 (Davis Boulevard) from County Barn Road to Santa Barbara Boulevard.
OBJECTIVE: Approve funding and authorize a budget amendment for landscape architectural services
for SR 84 (Davis Boulevard) from County Barn Road to Santa Barbara Boulevard.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Davis Boulevard project is identified as Financial Item Management Number
433173-2 in the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Adopted Work Program in Fiscal Year
2017/2018 for landscape installation. After July 1, 2017, FDOT will be able to execute a Joint
Participation Agreement (JPA) for this project, which is for construction only. Staff is requesting funding
for the preparation of landscape architectural construction documents so that the plans can be reviewed
and approved by FDOT upon the completion of the FDOT roadway project. The FDOT roadway project
will be completed by July 17, 2017.
Staff is requesting a budget amendment to transfer funding in the amount of $47,670.00 from Landscape
Fund (111) to Fund (112) in orderto provide design plans to FDOT in a timely manner. Collier County
Growth Management Department was selected to receive the maximum FDOT grant request award of
$200,000. The Road Maintenance/Landscape Department will be requesting $200,000 in Fiscal Year
2018 for installation. The County would be reimbursed by FDOT up to the amount of $200,000.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is required to transfer funding from Fund 111 Landscape
Maintenance program to support the design services related to the grant award and track related costs in
Fund 112 Davis Boulevard Landscape Beautification Project #60193. The source of funds is the
Unincorporated General Fund. Maintenance of the new section will be approximately $32,000 annually to
be budgeted within the Landscape Maintenance fund centers within Fund 111.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this
Executive Summary.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved as to form and legality, and requires majority
vote for Board approval.—SRT
RECOMMENDATION: To approve funding landscape architectural services for SR 84 (Davis Blvd.)
from County Barn Road to Santa Barbara Boulevard and authorize the associated budget amendment.

This letter is to confirm that the Florida Department of Transportation has programmed $200,000
in state funds for landscape improvements on SR 84 (Davis Boulevard) from County Barn Road
to Santa Barbara Boulevard.
This project is identified as Financial Item Management Number 433173-2 in the Adopted Work
Program in Fiscal Year 2017/2018. After July 1, 2017, the Florida Department of Transportation
and Collier County will be able to execute a Joint Participation Agreement (JPA) for this project
which is for the construction phase only. The JPA will also address that the County will be
responsible for the maintenance of the project after it is completed.
