How has the organization enhanced the community through financial, volunteer and active
involvement in organizations and programs? (500 words or less):
Champions For Learning contributes to the quality of our community by making it possible for the
community to impact lives by enriching the environment for student learning. By investing in,
recognizing and sharing the innovative and best practices of teachers, more than 20,000 students in
Collier County are impacted through more than 600 teachers that supported through classroom grants,
interactive community-based roundtables, and a Golden Apple process which recognizes and shares
best practices. In addition, 2,200 students are directly supported by the community through
scholarships, mentoring and college and career readiness programming and support. Connecting
educators and students to community-based and real-world opportunities with community organizations
and businesses is also a key strategy in achieving the mission. In addition, through its unique role as a
trusted convener and facilitator of collaboration, Champions For Learning is also serving our community
by facilitating a collaborative initiative called Future Ready Collier which is bringing the community
together toward shared goals around early learning and college and career readiness, in the context of
the Opportunity Naples work and the regional FutureMakers Coalition. In 2014-15, more than $3M in
financial contributions, and more than 500 volunteers invested their time to support the mission of
Champions For Learning.
