WHEREAS, The Friends of Barefoot Beach Preserve will celebrate 25 years
of volunteer service to the Collier County Parks and Recreation
Division; and
WHEREAS, The Friends of Barefoot Beach Preserve have donated thousands
of hours participating in and organizing beach clean -ups,
sponsoring an amwal guest lecture series, staffing the
environmental learning center, creating natural history exhibits,
hosting university work study students and professors,
underwriting fieldtrip costs to the Preserve for elementary school
children through their Barefoot Beach Express Program, and

stewardship of Barefoot Beach Preserve, and
WHEREAS, Collier County wishes to recognize and thank the Friends of
n Barefoot Beach who have provided and continue to provide
invaluable contributions to the Preserve and its visitors.

NOW THEREFORE, be it prclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of
Collier County, Florida, that March 22, 2016 be designated as
The Friends of Barefoot Beach Preserve Appreciation Day
