PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Collier County has held a County Fair since 1976 and it embodies a mix of
agriculture, education, food, entertainment and fun; and,
WHEREAS, this Year's Collier County Fair runs from March 17th through March 27h at the
Collier County Fairgrounds; and,
WHEREAS, with an annual attendance of over 65,000 people, the Collier County Fair invites
everyone to share in the rural lifestyle experiences and community spirit and help
support our community and youth of Collier County; and,
WHEREAS, the Collier County Fair supports Collier County 4-H youth in exhibiting and showing
their large and small animals, home living projects, and other hands-on learning
activities; and,
WHEREAS, 4-H empowers youth to reach their full potential through collaboration with partners
and adult mentors in environment in which youth and adults learn, grow and work
together as catalysts for positive change; and,
WHEREAS, Head, Heart, Hands, and Health are the four H's in 4-H, and comprise the four
values members focus on through fun and engaging programs; and,
WHEREAS, 4-H reaches over 6,000 youth annually in local clubs and outreach programs
throughout Collier County; and,
WHEREAS, 4-H improves the lives of participants by providing them with the opportunity to
strengthen personal standards, work effectively in groups, gain confidence and
poise, develop leadership ability, acquire practical knowledge and skills, practice and
enhance communication skills, explore career opportunities, learn and participate in
democracy, serve our community, and appreciate nature.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County,
Florida, that March 17- 27th, 2016 be designated as
THE 40TH ANNUAL COLLIER COUNTY FAIR and 4-H SHOW AND AUCTION DAYS
DONE AND ORDERED THIS BthDAY OF MARCH, 2016.
