EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to recognize Pam Bastien, Customer Service Specialist, Growth Management
Department as the Employee of the Year 2015.
OBJECTIVE: To recognize the efforts and accomplishments of an employee who has made significant
contributions to the organization or to our community.
CONSIDERATIONS: Each year, one employee among those honored during the year as "Employee of
the Month" is selected by committee for special recognition as the"Employee of the Year." This year's
honoree is Pam Bastien, Customer Service Specialist, for the Growth Management Department. Pam
received"Employee of the Month"for March 2015.
Pam wears a number of hats as the first face and voice most people see or hear when they contact GMD,
whether it is an internal or external customer. In addition to her outstanding customer service skills at the
front desk, Pam also handles the Road Alert for all projects, lane closures, delays, construction etc,that are
going on in Collier County. She works closely with outside construction companies as well as FDOT for
updates. This is a vital service that she performs so that our residents are well informed and kept safe at all
times. In addition Pam maintains all the GMD public meeting attendance information, allowing the
residents and HOA's to continue to be kept informed of design plan changes, schedule updates and any
other necessary information.
Pam has devoted herself to learning about all the departments and divisions in the County to be as
knowledgeable as possible when assisting her customers; she always has a smile and a kind word and
always does her best to be sure her customers are 100% satisfied. Pam is a proud military veteran serving
four years in the Navy and seventeen years in the Army National Guard.
Pam is devoted to her job,her co-workers and Collier County residents and is very deserving of this award.
FISCAL IMPACT: The selected "Employee of the Year"receives a$250.00 cash award. Funds for this
are available in the Human Resources Budget for this program.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There are no Growth Management Impacts associated with
this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approves the recognition of Pam
Bastien as Employee of the Year for 2015.
