EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to reappoint a member to the Isles of Capri Fire Control District
Advisory Committee.
OBJECTIVE: To reappoint one member to the Isles of Capri Fire Control District Advisory
Committee to a two-year term expiring on December 31, 2017.
CONSIDERATIONS: This 5 member committee was created by Ord. No. 78-49 to advise the
Board of County Commissioners on the budget and operation of the Isles of Capri Fire Control
District. Members must reside within the boundaries of the Isle of Capri Municipal Fire Services
Taxing District. Terms are 2 years. A list of the current membership is included in the backup.
One seat on this committee expired on December 31, 2015. The vacancy was advertised and
applications were received from the following:

ATTENDANCE: Over the past two years Mr. Herrington has been present at meetings over

COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: At its December 10, 2015 meeting the committee
voted unanimously that Dan Herrington be recommended for reappointment to another term on
the committee. A recommendation memo is included in the backup to this item.
FISCAL IMPACT: None.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Committee
Recommendation and directs the County Attorney to prepare a resolution confirming the
reappointment.
