EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to reappoint two members to the Golden Gate Community Center
Advisory Board.
OBJECTIVE: To reappoint two members to three-years terms which will expire on December
31, 2018.
CONSIDERATIONS: This 5 member committee was created by Ord. No. 75-4 to advise the
Board of County Commissioners on the budget and operation of the Golden Gate Community
Center. Members must reside within the boundaries of the Golden Gate Community Center
Municipal Services Special Taxing District. Terms are 3 years. A list of the current membership
is included in the backup.
Two seats on this committee expired on December 31, 2015. The vacancies were advertised and
applications were received from the following:

COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: At its meeting on November 2, 2015, the committee
voted unanimously that Mr. Klug and Ms. Tuff should each be reappointed to their seats on this
committee. Minutes from this meeting are included in the backup.
FISCAL IMPACT: None.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Committee
Recommendation, and directs the County Attorney to prepare a resolution confirming the
reappointments.

LET IT BE REMEMBERED, the Collier County Golden Gate Community Center Advisory
Board in and for the County of Collier, having conducted business herein, met on this date at
6:00P.M. in REGULAR SESSION at the Golden Gate Community Center 4701 Golden
Gate Parkway, Conference Room "C", Naples, Florida with the following members present:

I. Call to Order
Ms. Warren called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm
II. Attendance—Establish a Quorum
Roll Call was taken and a quorum was established.
III. Approval of Agenda
Mr. Brooks moved to approve the Agenda. Second by Mr. Klug. Carried unanimously 4- 0.
IV. Approval of Minutes—August 31,2015
Mr.Arthur moved to approve the minutes of the August 31,2015 Golden Gate Community Center
Advisory Board meeting. Second by Mr. Brooks. Carried unanimously 4-0.
V. Public Comments
None
VI. Old Business
A. Recreation Highlights—Vickie Wilson
Ms. Wilson reported on recreational activities:
➢ Eighty children attended the fourth and fifth grade dance.
➢ Eight hundred guests paid to attend the Halloween party.
➢ August Osage County "Let's Put On A Production"will host an event November 6 through
November 22, 2015.
➢ Breakfast with Santa is scheduled for December 5, 2015 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am.
➢ Snowfest is scheduled for December 5, 2015 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
B. Naples BMX MOU(vote required)
Ms. Wilson responded to Facility Use Memorandum of Understanding clarification guidelines
posed by Naples BMX at the August 31, 2015 and confirmed their inquiries had been satisfied.
Mr.Arthur moved to recommend approval of the Facility Use Memorandum of Understanding
Agreement between Naples BMX and Collier County. Second by Mr. Brooks. Carried
unanimously 4—0.
C. Community Garden (Update)
Ms. Hollander and Ms. Muelbauher updated the Board on the Community Garden noting:
• Community Garden Center Staff reached out to work with the Lions Club to improve the
Community Garden.
• Maintenance concerns previously expressed by the Board have been addressed and the
Community Garden is attractive.
• The Board suggested The Community Garden of Lakes Park be the"standard" for conditions
of the Community Garden.

• The Community Garden Center Staff requested funding from the Golden Gate Community
Center for maintaining the Community Garden given The Lakes Park Community Garden in
Fort Myers receives funding from the County for maintenance (the organization does not
qualify for a County grant as they are not a 501c3 entity).
• The Community Garden Center Staff will develop a plan for the garden work and present it
to the Board.
VII. New Business
A. Budget
Ms.Wilson presented the"Golden Gate Community Center Fund 130, FY2016" for information
purposes and provided an overview of the budget noting:
• Projected fund expenditures total $1,047,500.
• Revenue to be generated in the new fiscal year and reflected in the budget is $583,000, an
increase of approximately $64,700.

The Committee discussed the candidate's applications for the open positions noting the
contributions Ms.Tuff and Mr. Klug have made to the Board. Mr. Javier was not present for
review of his application and Ms. Tuff and Mr. Klug expressed their',desire to be reappointed
to the Committee.
Ms. Tuff moved to recommend the Board of County Commissioners appoint Mr. Klug to the
Golden Gate Community Center Advisory Board. Second by Mr. Brooks. Motion carried 3-0.
Mr. Klug abstained.
Mr.Arthur moved to recommend the Board of County Commissioners appoint Ms.'Tuff to the
Golden Gate Community Center Advisory Board. Second by Mr.Arthur. Motion carried 3-0.
Ms. Tuff abstained.
VIII. Member Comments
None
There being no further business for the good of the County, the meeting was adjourned by order of the
chair at 6:30 pm.
