EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to recognize accrued interest earned by EMS County Grant revenue and
appropriate funds for a total amount of$104.87.
OBJECTIVE: To appropriate past accrued interest earned from January 1 —March 31, 2016 for
EMS County Grants awarded by the Florida Department of Health under the Emergency Medical
Services County Grant Programs.
CONSIDERATIONS: Each year EMS is awarded a grant through the Florida Department of
Health, Bureau of EMS. The most recent grant was approved by the Board on October 13, 2015,
Agenda Item 16E2. This grant is non-competitive and requires only the completion of the
application and a resolution stating that the grant funds will be used only to expand or improve
EMS services and will not supplant budgeted funds. The State allows for the rollover of any
unexpended funds, including interest,to the next year's grant for County expenditure. Interest in
EMS Grant Fund 493 has accrued to a balance of$104.87 for the period January 1, 2016 through
March 31, 2016. Staff is seeking Board approval to recognize and appropriate this accrued
interest in order to expend the funds.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendments is required to recognize a total of$104.87 within
EMS Grant Fund 493, Project 33362 for accrued interest.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, raises
no legal issue, and requires majority vote for approval. —JAK
GROWTH IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approves the necessary
Budget Amendment in the amount of $104.87 to appropriate accrued interest for the period
January 1, 2016 through March 31, 2016.
