PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the Collier County Recycling Ordinance Number 2009-56 established the
Waste Reduction Awards Program (the WRAP award); and,
WHEREAS, the WRAP award recognizes businesses, institutions, and multi-family
residences for enhanced and innovative recycling programs; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is p/eased to recognize CJ's on the Bay
for contributing to the greater good of Collier County by advocating the
'Reduce, Reuse, Recycle"message, thereby he/ping to prolong the usable life
of the Collier County Landfill,. and,
WHEREAS, CJ's on the Bay's recycling, reuse and source reduction program includes
• diverting from the waste stream coming/ed recyclable materials such as
plastic bottles and tubs, glass jars, aluminum cans, cardboard, and office
paper.
• reusing expired daily special menu sheets for order taking, register drawer
balance sheets, hostess table maps and note paper.
• reusing corks as wedges to balance wobbly tables.
• using only paperboard to go boxes and craft paper to go bags; and,
WHEREAS, the Solid and Hazardous Waste Management Division congratulates Curt and
Jacquie goon, owners and operators, Laura Owen, executive chef/restaurant
manager, and the staff of CJ's on the Bay for setting a positive example for
other restaurants in the area. Their initiatives will have a significant effect
on sustaining the usable life of the Collier County Landfill and protecting the
environment.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier
County, Florida, that we congratulate
CJS ON THE BAY
