PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, In April 2016, the Children's Advocacy Center of Collier County
completes its 30th year as the county's only immediate response
facility for young victims of physical or sexual abuse; and,
WHEREAS, the Children's Advocacy Center of Collier County (CAC) has been
dedicated to reducing the trauma to abused and neglected
children and enhancing families'ability to provide a safe
environment since 1986; and,
WHEREAS, The CAC serves more than 2,200 Collier County children and
their families; and,
WHEREAS, April is also National Child Abuse Prevention Month; and,
WHEREAS, The Collier County Board of Commissioners fully supports the goal
of a community where child abuse is not tolerated.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of
Collier County, Florida, that April 2016 be designated as
CHILDREN'S ADVOCACY CENTER OF COLLIER COUNTY MONTH
