PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Florida South Western State College builds on the outstanding 50-plus year
history of Edison State College; and
WHEREAS, Florida South Western State College will continue providing and enhancing
public, higher education access to our region online and from its permanent
campus established in 1991 in Collier County; and
WHEREAS, Florida South Western State College has left an indelible mark on the
careers of its graduates, the businesses in our community and the economic
success of Collier County; and,
WHEREAS, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners wishes to recognize the
vast contributions of Florida South Western State College.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier
County, Florida, that July .1st, 2014 be designated as
Florida South Western State College Day in Collier County
