WHEREAS, economic development is a key element in the Collier County Strategic Plan; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners approved the promotion of an inbound business
development mission organized by the two state sponsored networks in France,
RETIS/Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur region, a hub for business creation and growth
in Southern France; and,
WHEREAS, Collier County was chosen for its quality of life, available capital and access to
other parts of the state and Southeastern United States; and,
WHEREAS, the objective of the inbound business development mission is to promote Collier
County and recruit international companies to the region; and,
WHEREAS, the mission includes a three day training camp during which the visiting French
executives will interact with local experts, advisors and including potential
partners and investors; and,
WHEREAS, RETIS has established a successful executive training program for innovative
French companies willing to expand to the United States, which could be
headquartered in Collier County; and,
WHEREAS, a permanent office could be set up in Collier County to organize inbound and
outbound trade missions; and
WHEREAS, the inbound business development mission is one of several initiatives underway in
the Office of Business and Economic Development and is a great opportunity for
Collier County to leverage its assets and promote international commerce.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County,
Florida, that April 9-11, 2014 be designated as
COLLIER RETIS SYMPOSIUM DAYS
