PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Stan Appelbaum, through founding the Foster Care Council and Friends of Foster Children
has helped countless foster families with monetary support and after school tutoring and
enrichment for children; and,
WHEREAS, Stan Appe/baum has been an outspoken advocate for individuals with mental health issues;
and,
WHEREAS, Stan Appe/baum serves on Florida's Gulf Coast University's Human Subjects Institutional
Review Board of Florida, the Alliance Collier County, the Children's Network, and is a Founding
Director of the Foster Care Council of Southwest Florida; and
WHEREAS, Stan Appelbaum has continued to be a tireless advocate, lobbyist and voice for abused
and abandoned children in Southwest Florida; and,
WHEREAS, Stan Appe/baum was named 2015 Collier Citizen of the Year by the Naples Daily News; and,
WHEREAS, There are hundreds of children in the Collier County foster care system at any given time and
they have a true friend in Stan Appelbaum and his legacy of advocating ardently on their
behalf.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proc/aimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County,
Florida, that May 27, 2015 be designated as
Stan Appe/baum Day
