PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the procurement profession plays a significant role in the efficiency
and effectiveness of both government and business; and,
WHEREAS, purchasing professionals, through the procurement of goods and
services have a significant influence upon local, state, and national
economic conditions; and,
WHEREAS, the Collier County Procurement Services Division provides value added
services such as timely and cost effective procurement of goods and
services, contract negotiation and oversight, vendor outreach and
management, training; and,
WHEREAS, the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP) recognizes
public agencies that represent the highest sustained standards of
quality and efficiency in government; and,
WHEREAS, the Collier County Procurement Services Division has been recognized
by the NIGP, whose membership represents over 2,600 governmental
agencies, by receiving the Outstanding Agency Accreditation
Achievement Award for distinction and excellence in public
procurement for leadership, quality and efficiency, a distinction only
.134 agencies have attained.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it proc/aimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier
County, Florida, that the Board recognizes the Collier County
Procurement Services Division and formally accepts the Award and
Recognition bestowed by the National Institute of Governmental
Purchasing.
