RESOLUTION NO. 79-.11_ ,
RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A MAXIMUM SPEED
LIMIT OF 45 MILES PER HOUR ON GOLDEN GATE
PARKWAY (C.R. 886) BETWEEN GOODLETTE_(C.R.
M p 851) AND AIRPORT ROAD (C.R. 31)
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has the
authority in accordance with Chapter 316, Florida Statutea,
, to alter or establish speed limits on any county-naintained w. •
u road, and,

d WHEREAS Golden Gate Parkway (C.R. 886) is a county
ii maintained road; and,
M-- — 6. WHEREAS, at present the speed limit on Golden Gate --
�; Parkway (C.R. 886) between Goodlette Road (C.R. 851) and
° Airport Road (C.R. 31) is 55 miles per hour; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 316, Florida Statutes,
an engineering and traffic investigation has been made for
• the portion of Golden Gate Parkway (C.R. 886) ; between
Goodlette Road (C.R. 851) and Airport Road (C.R. 31) ; and;
WHEREAS, this traffic investigation has determined that
a speed zone with a maximum speed limit of 45 miles per hour
is reasonable and in conformity with criteria promulgated by
the Florida Department of Transportation; and,
" WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Collier
1 County, Florida has determined that in order to protect the
safety of the citizens of Collier County, it will be to the
best interest and benefit to the citizens to limit the speed
1 on,the aforesaid portion of Golden Gate Parkway (C.R. 886)
to 45 miles per hour;
# NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County
Commissioners does hereby approve this Resolution to change
1 and reduce the speed limit on that portion of Golden Gate
Parkway ,(C.R. 886) between Goodlette Road (C.R. 851) and
Airport Road (C.R. 31) from the present maximum speed limit
of 55 miles per hour to a maximum speed limit of, 45 miles
per hour and does hereby direct the County Road Department

' ,1 .` , be forwarded to Sheriff Aubrey Rogers for proper enforcement
of the 45 miles per hour speed limit restriction.
