Minutes 04/09/1986 I N. Naples, Florida April 9, 1986 LET IT BE REMEMBERED, that the Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council met on this date at 4:00 p.m. at the Adminis- tration/Operations Complex of Collier County Department of Emergency Medical Services, 3123 Terrace Avenue, with the following members present: CHAIRMAN: Chief Norris Ijams MEMBERS: Egon Hill Dr. H. Adjournment A regular meeting of the Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council was called to order by Chief Ijams at 4:00 p.m. on April 9, 1986. ROLL CALL J. C. Smelko conducted the Roll Call. The Secretary was advised that all council members marked "absent" at last month's meeting were in fact "excused." APPROVAL OF MINUTES Minutes of the March 12, 1986 meeting were accepted with changes noted. OLD BUSINESS Doug Greenfield and staff presented for council's observance, the three Wheelcoach ambulances discussed at last month's meeting. NEW BUSINESS Peter Bolton introduced himself as the new Collier County Helicopter Pilot. He gave a brief history of his background as a Helicopter Pilot with the British Army. Mr. Greenfield advised that Mr. Bolton will be replacing Earl Sandborn, former pilot who is retiring. Doug Greenfield advised that Lee County Mosquito Control has made a legitimate offer to buy the present helicopter now in use for Collier County EMS; and that a possible replacement chopper is sought, possibly a Long Ranger L-1 model. He also advised that the helicopter landing pad at Naples Community Hospital has been inspected and approved as a landing site. Mr. Greenfield distributed EMS County-wide Operations Profile. General discussion was had. See attachment. Mr. Greenfield informed the Council that he will advise at the next meeting plans for a disaster drill in June. REPORT ON COLLECTIONS Jack Wampler reported that the March billing totalled $133,000 and collections equalled $98,700 for an approximate 76.2$ collection rate.
