1985 Miscellaneous MEMORANDUM DATE: 2 January 1986 TO: EMSAC Membe FROM: Don Norton ub is Services Administrator RE: Notice of Next 'Regular Meeting The next regular meeting of the EMSAC will be held: WEDNESDAY, 8 January 1986 EMS Headquarters 3123 Terrace Avenue 4:00 P.M. If for any reason you will be unable to attend, please notify my office (774-8468) or Chairman Ijams (649-3459) so that your absence will be considered excused. A copy of the minutes of the meeting held 11 December 1985 is enclosed for your review and approval. DWN/cms Enclosure 110‘4 MEMORANDUM DATE: 12/10/85 TO: Bill Griffin FROM: Therese_ Ortengren Enclosed are copies of the poll that was given to the employees regarding wearing time of jumpsuits. Some very important points were mentioned. First of which someone felt that because we were issued protective gear it should be mandatory at night, because if they were injured they might have a difficult time legally collecting any insurance or monies for injuries from the party causing the injury. If issued protective gear it should be used. Second point which most employees agreed upon was that both crew members should not have to wear the jumpsuit if they did not want to. Someone mentioned if it was mandatory at night all employees would be treated fairly in the respect that each person would have equal time wearing both uniforms. I would like to have a special meeting as soon as possible to make a decision on this issue. After you review this would you please get with me in setting a time for a meeting. Respectfully Submitted: Therese Ortengren Chairman cc. Doug Greenfield • MEMORANDUM DATE: December 4. 1985 TO: All Employees FROM: Therese Ortengren Jumpsuits are in, most fit well . Now its time to decide on when and where we will be able to wear them. I would like you to please add any suggestions you may have to the following and comment on the following: 1 . Wearing time from dusk to shift change. 2. Wearing them at special events, and mandatory overtime for call in such as hurricanes, disasters, etc. 3. Should crews be restricted to wearing them only if both agree to it. For example Field Instructors training new people would not be able to wear them very much. Or if you had a partner who did not want to wear the suit, essentially you would be restricted. I need you to turn these in today if possible to any representative in the Advisory Council attending the meeting. I need this before any decisions are made to wear the suits. Thank - You Therese Ortengren Chairman FORM RPI 1009-L Bill Griffin Operations Chief Collier County E.M.S Dear Bill; Enclosed is a revised inventory for the med kit, green kit, and trauma box. On the 18th. and 19th. of November I asked the medics to vote on the changes which are listed, all changes made were agreed upon by Dr. Tober, the majority of the medics and discussed with Doug Greenfield, Sally Moore and yourself. I would also like to ask that the inventory for the boxes be placed on the same sheet, with the unit inventory being separate. After the meeting I felt that the medics were pleased overall and I feel this will not only cut down on the time it takes to inventory a unit but will also end the complaints associated with the present inventory. We will still be working on a method to eliminate daily inventory of the unit cabinets which have not been used. I will get with you when I can give you a better idea of what the medics think.
