ITEM DEFINITION
ALS Advanced Life Support means when the services of a -
Paramedic are initiated during the run ($92.65).
Includes lead monitor of a patient.
ALS PRECAUTIONARY
I.V. MONITOR When a Paramedic initiates a prophylactic IV and/or
electrocardiographicly monitors a patient but does
no other ALS procedure and/or does not administer
any medications a $35.00 fee will be charged. In
these cases, no ALS surcharge will be assessed.
BLS Basic Life Support means when you assess a patient's
vital signs. This can include blood pressure level,
pulse, respirations and/or examination of the pupils.

NON-EMERGENCY
TRANSPORT Transport means when all you do is provide the
patient with transportation to a nursing home, hos-
pital, doctor's office, home, etc. , without the need
for ALS/BLS.
PRISONER TRANSPORT Prisoner transport is when you are transporting a
prisoner accompanied by a Police Officer. Collier/
Naples charges is $38.15. Immokalee is $70.85. No
other charges even if you have a cardiac arrest,
as long as you have a Police Officer ride in with you.
If he doesn't ride in, then you charge according to
the treatment given the patient.
BODY REMOVAL Body removal is a fee of $38. 15 plus the base rate of
$81.75.
HELICOPTER Helicopter charge in-County is $381.50/hr. , plus
other pertinent surcharges and supplies (exclude base
rate of $81.75, but all other pertinent charges
prevail) . Out-of-County charge is $327.00 per hour
both ways.
FIRST AID/
CANCELLATION CHARGE There is a $38. 15 charge when you respond to a scene,
examine and/or treat a patient and transportation is
not initiated.

Oxygen $15.00 $16.35 Any time patient receives
oxygen by EMS.
Drugs $10.00 $10.90 All drugs are charged out
to the patient at $10.90 per
drug dosage. Example:
Nitrous-$10.90; IV solution-
$10.90, Nitro - No charge
Atropine-$10.90._ This is
$10.90 per ampule or solution.
(Lasix 10.90 per each dose) .
IV Charge - Start $5.00 $ 5.45 One time charge for starting
an IV, irregardless of how
many IV's started. However,
you do charge for each IV
solution set you hang.
Major Items $25.00 $27.25 Major items consist of: Burn
sheets, EOA's, Foley
Catheters, O.B. Kits, Trauma
Dressings. Any combination
of these items equal the
$27.25 charge -- not per
item.
