Minutes 08/25/1981 r1 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF E.M.S. ADVISORY COUNCIL The meeting of the members of the E.M.S. Advisory Council was held at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, August 25, 1981 at the E.M.S. Headquarters office. The meeting was called to order with the following members present : Jeff Page Dave Kitchen Joe Magri Russ Bensheimer, Guest Doug Greenfield Paul Wilson (2nd half) A decision was made on the type of badge that will be purchased. The badge agreed upon is : A Medium size badge with the Florida Seal in the center. The size and design was agreed upon by Jeff Page, " Dave Kitchen and Joe Magri. All in favor. Motion carried. Doug Greenfield advised that the area high schools are expecting football coverage once again at their home games . B.L.S. units with transport capabilities will be utilized, hopefully with volunteers. Schedules of the games will be sent out to the stations and those wishing to volunteer their services may do so thru their Supervisor. This is a community service project. Doug Greenfield advised that approval was made by the Board of County Commissioners to purchase two (2) Type III ambulances from Wheel Coach. The body design was changed to permit easy access and compartmentalization of all essential equipment. All members voted on the color scheme for the interior of the new ambulances, with each vehicle having a different color scheme. The new ambulances are - expected to arrive by late September. E.M.S. Advisory Council -2- • x"/25/81 Per several requests from employees, Joe Magri asked Doug Greenfield to address the problem of maintenance tools for all vehicles, i.e. , funnels, can opening devices, etc . Per Mr. Greenfield these tools have been ordered. Jeff Page raised the questions regarding uniform jackets. He stated he has encountered some disagreement from employees over the proposed light knit jacket. After some discussion it was decided to table this issue until next meeting where the Council will be provided samples of the various jackets available before making a final decision. Joe Magri raised the question of the possibility of some type of Jumpsuit to be utilized for after hours. The Advisory Council was directed to investigate the different types of jumpsuits available, material, color, style, etc . and report back at the next meeting. Jeff Page raised the question reference raincoats and was advised that they will soon be provided. A discussion on Procedure Manual then proceded. Jeff Page is reviewing several different types of manuals and will collaborate with Doug Greenfield on our own Procedure Manual in the very near future. Doug Greenfield advised he would like to establish a method of orientating new E.M.S. personnel on our policies and procedures . Possibly this will be handled by the on-duty Supervisor. The meeting was adjourned after establishing the next E.M.S. Advisory Council meeting will be held at E.M.S. Headquarters at 1 p.41. on Friday, September 11, 1981. /mcg
