MEMBERS PRESENT - Terry Ortengren, Beverly Utley, Sue Keny

The meeting was called to order at 0930 and minutes were
read.
OLD BUSINESS
1 . Doug Greenfield is still very interested in having a
psychiatrist available for employees. However, until
county elections are held this will have to be put on
hold.
2. The county is also putting on hold the idea of a merit
program until after elections. It has been approved
for all employees to receive a 5% increase October 1 .
This will be reflected in your first October paycheck.
3. Resumes are being received for the position of Chief
of Operations. Applications will be taken through
November 10th with the position being offically filled
by December 15th.
4. Billing procedure has been changed so that no phone
contact is made to verify address , etc. prior to
billing. It is therefore very important for all
personnel to obtain correct billing information at the
scene. Pay specific attention to the "bill to" boxes
#36 and #37.
5. Remember no charge to transport Wellness participants
either from 501 station or N. Naples where they will
also be holding a Wellness program.
6. We will be moving into the North Naples center on
9/28/84. A cafeteria will be available for our use.
If you become busy with a patient while at the
facility stabilizing prior to transport, notify
Emergency Control you are 10-6. Also there will be no
charge for continuing transport of the same patient.
For Example: If a patient requests transport to the
facility and the Doctor there requests transport to
NCH, there is no charge to continue transport.
NEW BUSINESS
1 . Immokalee station will have a microwave by December .
It was brought up that this station is in need of
silverware, cooking utensils, glasses , etc . Dave
Kitchen volunteered to donate some miscellaneous items
he was going to give to Goodwill . Please think about
our various stations before pitching items that might
be useful .
2. Clorox is available at H.Q. if you would like it at
your station for disenfecting.
3 . Jumpsuits will be researched. If you would like to be
involved with this project, contact an advisory
council member.
4. Money spent for meals while at work can be deducted
from income tax if you and your partner sign a form
saying you pool your money. Forms will be available
soon.
5. There will be an advisory council meeting the 2nd week
in October to discuss zones, zone coverage,
boundaries, identification, standby locations, etc .
The date will be announced.
6. All personnel will be receiving a questionaire from
the State of Florida. The questionaire will deal with
various issues to be brought before the legislature
next year. By filling this out and mailing it back
promptly you will be helping decide the priority of
issues to be changed or voted on. If you have any
questions, contact Doug Greenfield.
7. There will be no night helicopter use and no charge
for helicopter use because of certain regulations
applying to transport .
8. Compliments to all involved in the airplane crash. An
excellent job was done by all ! After critiquing this
emergency, four areas were found to need improvement:
A. Radio traffic was extremely heavy, need to
Med 9.
B. Disaster tags were brought to scene, but not
utilized.
C. Truck #7 was not used.
D. Other units were not put 10-8 from Motor Pool for
zone coverage.
