OLD BUSINESS
Training Instructor position still open to this date.
Interviews soon and hopefully filled by third week
of January.
GGFD-504's window has been fixed.
Determined nozzle bottled oil is unobtainable per
ARA.
Radio in Truck #8 still a problem, will hopefully
get a new radio soon. A new one was installed re-
cently but same old "Cut Out" problem.
Still working on Mutual Aid Policy with Hendry County-
meanwhile please still adhere to memo referring
clearing response with 525.
National Paramedic Registry Test date set for January
31, 1986, cost $40.00 which will be paid by EMS.
Study materials should include DOT Manual, no list
of complete ref. material available yet. Call
Randy Carroll for questions.
New Diesel Truck should be here March 1987-
Issue of Dopplers for units still on the table for
debate as we are accumulating info.
1 1/4" abbos for #14 & #16 sizes will be obtainable
again soon. They are on order through NCH,YEAH!
NEW BUSINESS
Discussed possible aquisition of a transderm pacer.
Determined cost prohibitive and issue dropped.
Sally Moore announced she has been working towards
revamping of med boxes with preloaded or Bristoject
meds instead of ampules and vials, this comes due
to strong suggestion by HRS. to Streamline Paramedics
time drawing up meds. This will take some thought
and time so a committee will assist Sally; Brian
Mackenzie, Jorge Aguilera and Rancy Carroll.
Issue of D/C BLS or ALS on road brought up.
Remember use Med. 7 so there is a tape- Ch.
1 just won' t cut it!
Since we are in full season swing now important
to be conscious-if you pick up a baby team at
airport,(leaving your cot at airport) then please
use spare cot at ER upon dropping off team at
NCH. You are not to stay 10-6 at NCH! These
teams take minium 2 hrs. to complete work up for
babies. If there is a problem contact 525.

Remember on Supply Order receiving days to rotate
old and new stock!
Beware of the counter behind sofa at 505--? Some
padding might be added to avoid head injuries!
Carpet at Immokalee 505 living room needs cleaning
or better yet replacement with a low pile like
bedroom, this will be explored.
Phones at 505 now have lights on them and now
several people request touch tone phone for
private line (657-2141) so that credit cards
can be used for long distance charges.
Remember Policy Memo #86-68, EVOC MANDATORY RETAKES
after signal 4 in county vehicle? Well 3 people
in the last 10 days have earned that privledge---
be careful at fuel pumps. Do not attempt a
u-turn around outer edge- Doug Greenfield warns
that another incident will cause us to have to refuel
at County Barn to avoid these problems.
Only 503 and 504 will have oleum cards.
Entry level for EMT'S/ Medics discussed at length
again. Mr. Kevin O'Donnell present and states that
when "turn over is low, salaries are low, when re-
cruitment is down, entry levels are increased. He
is currently working on a new system, we should
hear about sometime towards the end of December.We
will wait!

Medic of 1 yr. county service-$19,364.00
Medic at entry level-$19,178.00
A request for easier to read station maps, Doug
Cameron suggests a piece of magnifying laminated
plastic be placed over each station map. A good
suggestion, to be considered.
Please still refer to Medivac Memo concerning 506
usage. Also be advised 506 will respond to
Marco and Immokalee.for emergency calls. When turning
over a patient to 506 please provide patient info.
plus what treatments you gave.
Suggested by Rich D'Orazio 506's status be announced
at each a.m. roll call at 0830. It will be effective
immediately.
Please note memo on Pheonix Award and criteria to
meet for award; posted at all stations.
Request for new C-Collars again--discussed and dropped.
Engineering Dept. working on safe method for our
units to transport with IVACS. Any suggestions please
write down and turn into Advisory Council.
Problems with 2 Man crews in Immokalee will be discussed
at a workshop on December 19th, 10:00 a.m. at headquarters.

Truck #8 and #9 are now in Immokalee permanently.
It has also been requested by 525's that 505/510
expedite calls time spent at NCH--fuel--HQ--
not necessary. Gas up in Immokalee to get around
Oxygen fills 3 extra "D" cylinders will be sent
out to 505 station, and drop your 10-43(Paperwork)
at 501's station for pick up. The season is upon
us people--we need to cut down on time in town--thanks!
NCH Security requested tht we always keep left
lane at ER open for drive thru.
Out of County transports will be handled by 506
or 508(if ALS). 504 will go only if time not per-
mitting to call in off duty crew.
508 In-service 9:OOa.m -6:OOp.m Monday - Friday until
April 1, 1987(BLS)
The beginning of December EMS began providing
shift coverage and a county vehicle for Paramedic
students to attend school. This will be allowed
for up to 3 students per year.
Mr. Kevin O'Donnell states he will attend AC
meetings from now on, and that he will also begin
riding ALS units in an effort to better familiarize
himself with EMS employees and problems.
550's equipment left at NJJCC is their problem--
also problems with 550 not knowing how to operate
their stretcher or know where NCH is was discussed. . .
Again, if you have a problem with NCHC staff, write
it down and place in Dr. Zinn's box at NCH. He will
handle it!
If there is a APCOR at your station turn it into
HQ.
STATE NEWS:
1) As of yet no state trust $10-12.
2) Trauma legislature bill coming soon.
3) We are now designated high risk for $50,000.
But unknown effective date of coverage!
4) Possibility of seperate certifications in
BTLS, PALS, etc. required in future by HRS!
5) Brevard County case regarding "Bill of Rights"
Medic involved in wrongful death case could
not be fired due to Medical Director Decert-
ification--due to poor definition of Paramedic
License vs. Medical Endorsement
Three Paramedic vacancies still open.
Effective immediately Immokalee Clinic will be closed
on Saturdays! OH NO!
Training Officer interviews Dec. 22, 1986 three people
to be considered--
