The EMSAC committee will decide how to spend the money (possibly a BLS unit) with suggestions from the Employee Advisory Council. Dispatch - If you still have problems, see Bill Griffin. It seems most of the problems were from one particular dispatcher. NEW BUSINESS ACLS - The teams for competition have been chosen. Competion will be July 8, 9, & 10th. Awards will be presented on July 11 . If anyone is interested in helping to make up scenarios, etc. the team will be more than happy to have your input. Charcoal - Has been ordered in 25 gram bottles. We will be deleting from the med box one standard drip and one lactated ringer. Be sure to keep them in your truck inventory, however. Overtime - We are checking to see if an employee takes a vacation day and then works overtime if they are paid overtime or straight time. (Sick time is not affected by this) . Disability - Would employees be interested in this program as a payroll deduction? See your representative. Workers Compensation - The question was brought up why does it take seven days of being out of work after being injured before Workers Compensation kicks in. Sherry Rynders will be present at the next meeting to answer these type of questions. Jail - If you need to pick up an inmate at the jail, call the S.O. to let them know to open the bay door for the ambulance. This is the easiest way to get the stretcher in. This may change in the future. 501 Scanner - It will be repaired or replaced. 502 Scanner - Plectron will be repaired also. Bunk Beds - It was brought up that the bunk beds do not have ladders. Doug will check on new beds for 503 in October. A representative (M. They should be notified through their part-time representative. Part-time Paramedics will be notifed of changes in protocol, and policies. Keep your policy book out for part-timers to review. Routine Transports at Night - It has been suggested that nursing homes hold transports that are in the wee hours of the morning or late at night until morning, if only routine. Bill and Marty will have a. meeting with Dr. Zinn to see if this can be arranged. Off-Duty Activity - Any employee that has a secondary job is required to notify EMS. The secondary employer must also be notied that they are subject to recall with EMS, and EMS needs the number where you can be reached on your secondary job. Driving Records - Your driving record on and off duty can affect your job. Risk Managment checks your driving record twice a year. If you have received a ticket, they will run a check every 30-45 days. Overtime - Kim Lark brought up some EMTs make more money than Paramedics because of overtime pay. She wanted Paramedics and EMTs to both be considered equally for overtime. Doug Greenfield stated the current policy will not change. Part-timers will be contacted for overtime first, then EMTs, then Paramedics. He hopes by the end of 2 years to have a zero overtime budget. He plans on hiring three new employees for 1986-87. These would be full-time positions to cut down on overtime. Three more positions - 2 - are planned for 1987-88. 510 - Your input is needed in making this a BLS unit in October. See your representative. Truck 6 - Is in the body shop. Will be back on the street shortly. It is getting new front end and brakes. If you have any problems with it, see 525.
