OLD BUSINESS
JUMPSUITS
If you have any problems with wearing jumpsuits, take it up with your
partner. Alternate days wearing them.
NEW BUSINESS
NEW EMPLOYEES
There are nine new faces at EMS, which include three full-time employees and
six part-timers. Please make them feel welcome.
CHANGES
Truck 6 will be the next to go - details to follow.
510 will soon be a two man unit on Friday, Saturday and Sunday on a trial
basis. This will give Immokalee two transport units. Hopefully, in
October, the two man crew will be permanent.
Possibly Pelican Bay area will become a new station in the next few years.
EMS Trust Fund - This is ,an improvement fund to be divided by all EMS
organizations. The amount will be $32,000 - $34,000 and will be used for
capital equipment around July 1st.
Assistant - The possibility is being looked into for an assistant for Dr.
Tober to help with protocols and keep the troops running smooth.
Consolidation - Will it happen?
501's scanner will be repaired. Crews have been expressing concerns of not
having a back up radio as there are dead spots in the station. This will be
taken care of.
504 - New carpet.
Mattress - There will be new mattresses for all stations except 501 station.
505-510 - Major changes to building as you are already aware.
Hopefully next season there will be a BLS transport unit out of 501 for
routine only transports.
See Bill Griffin if you are having problems with Dispatch.
Dr. Tober will have input on ACLS competition this year. There may be 2
teams.
Uniforms - Full-time employees will receive two new uniforms a year
regardless of the condition of the old ones. It will be the responsibility
of the employee for cleaning and repairing their own uniforms. EMS will not
be purchasing any more cotton shirts as they do not hold up. If you wish,
you may purchase them yourself. Part-time employees receive one new uniform
a year.
Jackets - Hopefully we will be getting Tuffy jackets that will be warmer
next year.
Doug Greenfield stated the Fire Dept. can drive our vehicles. Use your own
judgement.
Overtime - Pat Hedrich will draw up a proposal for a overtime sheet for a
two week period to see if this will work out.
Protocols - We will be changing fluids in the future. No more D51/2 NS or
D5LR onboard.
The State is trying to come up with common recertification dates for
EMT/Paramedics. EMT CCU's were lowered from 40 CEU's to 30 CEU'S.
If you have any problems, see your representative. Names of
representatives are posted at all stations. We need your input and
suggestions.
See you next meeting.
Sue Lemay, Secretary
