GRANT REVIEW PANEL MEETING
Naples, Florida, May 18, 2012

Council Grant Review Panel in and for the County of Colli ing
conducted business herein, met on this date at 9:00 . 1 REGULAR
SESSION at 2800 N. Horseshoe Drive, Tourist ment Council
Conference Room, Naples, Florida, with e win g members present:

Department or view online.
Jack Wert began the Grant Review Panel Meeting at 9:10 a.m. He gave a brief
overview on Criteria for Evaluation for Category "C -2 " and Criteria for Evaluation for
Category `B" Applications. (See attached) Category "C -2" and Category "B" Grant
Guidelines and categories for request for funds from Tourist Development Taxes (TDT)
were distributed. (See attached)
He reviewed:
• 6 Categories and Scoring Process
• Repeat Requests
• Return on Investment
• Room Nights (not the only criteria)
• Less Applications (more stringent criteria has be d10 the
reimbursement process) e
The Grant Review Panelists unable to attend the meetin all be asked to score
Category "C -2 " and Category "B " requests and that ' or ion will be included with
the Panel's recommendations to the Tourist Develo anen ouncil on May 29, 2012.

Staff addressed all questions. The Panel wa aske i they would distinguish any conflict
of interests during the scoring process.
Staff distributed and reviewed FY12 r plication Recap. (See attached)
Cate o "C -2" on -Count Museum Grant A lications
The following Applications ributed and reviewed: (See attached)
➢ Holocaust Muse hing Respect /The Ripple Effect requested $100,000
➢ Naples Art As "Bring `em in -Bring `em Back" requested $72,800
➢ PhilharmoC a er for the Arts: Painting Women/Travel Exhibit requested
$45,000
Discussion o on each Category "C -2" Applications and the Grant Review Panel .

➢ ples Art Association — limit to shoulder events — details
Vilharmonic Center for the Arts — dates and promotion details
A consensus was formed and it was recommended the following grant requests be
submitted to the Tourist Development Council for further consideration:
➢ Holocaust Museum $50,000
➢ Naples Art Association $60,000
➢ Philharmonic Center for the Arts $25,000

Category `B" (Grant and Event Sponsorship Applications)
The following Applications were distributed and reviewed: (See attached)
➢ Art Naples World Fest requested $25,000 for out -of- market ads and production.
➢ Naples International Film Festival requested $40,000 for web banner ads and
television spots.
➢ Old Naples Waterfront Association /Stone Crab Festival requested $25,000 for
out -of- market ads and production.
Discussion occurred on each Category `B" Application and the Grant Review Panel
made the following recommendations:
➢ Arts Naples World Fest start promotion earlier
➢ Naples International Film Festival focus on out -of- market promotion
➢ Stone Crab Fest V
A consensus was formed and it was recommended the following gr q sts be
