WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners adopted Collier County Ordinance No.
93-20, establishing the Collier County Disaster Recovery Task Force or the purpose of ensuring
the safety and well-being of its residents, visitors and properly during emergencies caused by
hazards; and
WHEREAS, on August 28, 1997, the City of Marco Island voted to incorporate; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners desires that the City of Marco Island be
included in the membership of the Collier County Disaster Recovery Task Force; and
WHEREAS, utility companies and the names of County department supervisi signs
and titles have changed creating a need to update the Task Forces membership list; an~[~

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners requires that all advisory m~ly
with the general advisory boards Ordinance No. 86-41, as amended.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
SECTION ONE: Amendment to Section Four of Collier County Ordinance No. 93-20.
Section Four, Composition, Appointment, terms of Office of Recovery Task Force, of
Collier County Ordinance No. 93-20, shall be amended to read as follows:
SECTION FOUR: Composition, Appointment, Terms of Office of
Recovery Task Force.
1. Composition of Recovery Task Force. The Recovery Task Force will be
composed of the individuals that reflect a broad-based representation of community
interests. The Recovery Task Force shall consist of the following individuals, or
their respective designees:
a. County Community Development and Environmental Services Administrator
b. County Attorney
c. County Current Planning Services Manager
d. County Building and Permitting Director
e. County Emergency Management Director
f. County Real Property Management Director
g. County Solid Waste Director

2.Appointment of Recovery Task Force:
a. The Recovery Task Force shall be composed of twenty- six (26) twenty-
seven (27) members.
b. Members of the Recovery Task Force shall be appointed by and serve at
the Pleasure of the Board of County Commissioners. Those individuals acting
as liaisons to the Recovery Task Force from other governmental or private
agencies shall be appointed by that agency, which appointment shall be
ratified by the Board of County commissioners.
c. Appointment or ratification of members of the Recovery Task Force
shall be by resolution of the Board of County Commissioners, which
resolution shall set forth the date of appointment and term of office.
3. Terms of Office. The initial terms of office of the Recovery Task Force
members shall be as follows:
a. Eight members shall serve for two (2) years
b. Nine members shall serve for three (3) years.
c. Nine members shall service for four (4) years.
Thereafter, each appointment shall be for a term of four (4) years.
SECTION TWO. Amendment to Section Five of Collier County Ordinance No. 93-20.
Section Five, Removal From Office; Failure To Attend Meetings, of Collier County
Ordinance No. 93-20, shall be amended to read as follows:

SECTION FIVE: Removal From Office; Failure To Attend Meetings.
1. Any member of the Board may be removed from office, with or ~vithout
cause, by a majority vote of the Board of County Commissioners.
2. If any member of the Board fails to attend two (2) ootmooutive Board
meetings without a mUisfnctory excuse or if a member is absent from more
than one half of the Board's meetings in a given fiscal year, the Board shall
declare the member's ~eat to be vacant and the vacancy shall be filled by the
Board of County Commissioners.
Committee member attendance requirements, including failure to attend
meetings and member removal from office are governed by Collier County
Ordinance No. 86-4 !, as amended, or by its successor ordinance,
SECTION THREE: Conflict and Severability.
In the event this Ordinance conflicts with any other ordinance of Collier County or other
applicable law, the more restrictive shall apply. If any phrase or portion of this Ordinance is held
invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a
separate, distinct and independent provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portion.
SECTION FOUR: Inclusion In The Code Of Laws And Ordinances.
The provisions of this Ordinance shall become and be made a part of the Code of Laws and
Ordinances of Collier County, Florida. The sections of the Ordinances may be renumbered or
relettered to accomplish such, and the word "ordinance" may be changed to "section," "article," or
any other appropriate word.
SECTION FIVE: Effective Date.
This Ordinance shall become effective upon filing with the Department of State.
