AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Collier County Contractors' Licensing Board
and the City of Naples Contractors' Licensing Board have agreed
in principle that the list of Specialty Contractors should be
uniform for the entire county; and
WHEREAS, the Collier County Contractors' Licensing Board and
the City of Naples Contractors' Licensing Board have agreed in
principle that there should be a reciprocal agreement, relating
to the issuance of contractors' competency card,'between the City
of Naples and the unincorporated area of Collier County;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COL~TY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA;
SECTION ONE
Collier County Ordinance No. 78-02 is hereby
as follows:
The present Section 1.7.17 - Specialty Contractor -
is hereby repealed in its entirety and is replaced
by the following provision to be numbered 1.7.17:
Specialty Contractor - Anyperson who assumes responsible charge
and direction in the performance of construction work requiring
special skills and his principle contracting business involves
the use of specialized building trades and crafts usually a
minor part of a complete structure. Available classifications
of Specialty Contractors shall be as follows:
1. Acoustical and Insulating
2. Awning and Aluminum Erection
3. Cabinet and Millwork (where installation is included)

5. Cement, Concrete and Masonry
6. Demolition
7. Elevators
8. Fence Erectors
9. Flooring and Floor Covering
10. Glazing and Window Installation
11. Landscaping (a) lawn sprinkler systems (b) sod
installation
12. Mobile Home Installation (not inoluding air conditioning,
plumbing, and electrical hook-ups)
13. Painting
14. Paving and Asphalt Sealing
15. Plastering, Lathing, Stucco and Drywall
16. Roof Coating and Waterproofing
17'. Sandblasting.
18. Seawalls and Docks
19. Sign Erection (exclusive of the electrical work required)
20. Steel, Reinforced Iron and Structural Erection
21. Structure Moving
22. Tennis Courts
23. Tile, Marble and Terrazzo
SECTION TWO
Collier County Ordinance No. 78-02 is hereby amended by
replacing Sections 1.10.2 and 1.10.3 with the following new
sections:

The present Sections 1.10.2 and 1.10.3 ere hereby repealed
in their entirety.
SECTION %~REE
Collier County Ordinance No. 78-02, Suction 2.12 which
is captioned Examinations not Required is hereby amended by
adding Section 2.12.7 which shall provide as follows:
2.12.7 In addition to the foregoing alternatives, any appli-
cant for a specialty license, as defined under
Section 1.7.17. not previously required to
hold a competency card (to-wit: Structure Moving,
Landscaping and Sign Erection shall not be required
to take a qualifying examination if on'the effective
date of this amendment the applicant, or its quali-
fying agent, possessed a valid, 1978-79 occupational
license for Collier County in the specialty trade
for which application is made.
SECTION FOUR
Collier County Ordinance No. 78-02 Section 2.12 captioned
Examinations Not Required is further amended by adding a new
subsection to be numbered 2.12.8 which shall provide as follows:
2.12.8 City of Naples, Florida CertificateofCompetency
Sufficient For Issuance of Coun~ Certificate.
Notwithstanding any provision of Chis Ordinance to the
contrary, any person, firm, or corporation holding a current and
valid Certificate of Competency issued by the City of Naples
may obtain a Certificate of Competency from Collier County
by presentkng a copy of said Certificate of Competency to the
Collier County Building Director, completing the form prescribed
by the Contractors' Licensing Board therefor, and paying the
fees applicable thereto. Such Certificate of Competency shall
be subject to. all provisions of Ordinance No. 78-02 and any
amendments thereto,.including, but not limited to, suspension,
revocation, restrictions, limitations and fees set forth therein.
SECTION FIVE: Conflict
In the event this Ordinance conflicts with any. other ordinance
of Collier County or any other applicable law the mo~a resCri~tiva

shall apply.
SECTION SlX: Sevorability
It is the intention of the Board of County Commissioners
that each separate provision of this Ordinance shall be
deemed independent of all provisions herein, and it is
further the intention of the Board of County Commissioners
that if any provision of this Ordinance be declared to be
invalid all other provisions shall remain valid and enforceable.
SECTION SEVEN: Effective Date.
This Ordinance shall bm effective Upon acknowledgement
from the Secretary of State that the Ordinance has been
duly filed.
