As of September, 1991, Collier County had received $36 million in Federal funds and $3 million in State funds for that fiscal year. The FY 92/93 staffing costs constitute .00056% and the fully-phased department would represent only .0013% of the county's $300 million budget. At a minimum, the proposed Department and ordinances would provide protection against discrimination for 70 - 80% of Collier County citizens.
