EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 15 OF ORDINANCE
NO. 79-55, REGULATING THE PROFESSION OF PSYCHOLOGY,
AS IT RELATES TO THE TERMINATION DATE OF ORDINANCE
NO. 79-55; PROVIDING A NEW TERMINATION DATE OF
JUNE 30, 1980; PROVIDING AN I~EMEDIATE EFFECTIVE
DATE; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEP~EAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Collier
County on July 31, 1979 adopted Ordinance No. 79-55 in order
to regulate the practice of psychology, and
WHEREAS, a termination date of December 31, 1979 of
said Ordinance was included in Section 15 of Ordinance No.
79-55 as it was hoped that the Legislature of the State of Florida
would respond and would re-enact and re-adopt regulations con-
cerning the prat=ice of psychology throughout the S~ate of
Florida, and
WHEP, EAS, the Special Session of the Legislature of the
State of Florida called by the Governor in the Fall of 1979
did not address itself to the issue of re-enacting and re-adopting
any regulations by the State concerning the licensing of psychology,
and
WHEREAS, the automatic termination date of December 31, 1979
of Ordinance No. 79-55 constitutes a public emergency threatening
the health, welfare and safe=y of the citizens of Collier County;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMIS-
SIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA THAT:
Section 1. Section 15 of Ordinance No. 79-55 is hereby amended
to provide for a new autDmmtic termination date of June 30, 1980
and shall read as follows:
Section 15. The provisions of this Ordinance shall remain
in full force and effect only until June 30, 1980, at which time
i= shall be deemed repealed.
Section 2. iT.he~.~lerk of this Board is hereby directed to cause
th~s '~O~-dtna~c~ t'o be published within ten (10) days of this
d~t~ i~n,~a, daily newspaper of general circulation.
Sect{O~B 3. --B~.~t declared that an emergency exists and the

immediate enactment of this O~dinance is necessary, therefore,
notice rcqutrcments are waived and this Ordinance shall take
effect immediately upon its placement in che United States
mall to the Secretary of State.
