AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDInaNCE NO. 79-55
BY AMENDING SECTION 7(b~ ~IEREOF, DELETING
QUIREMENT THAT MEMBERS OF TIIE BOARD OF PSYC!IOLOGY
PRACTICE LICENSE APPEALS BE LICENSED PSYCIIOLUG~STS
PRACTISING IN COLLIEK COUNTY; DECLARING TI~T A
PUBLIC EMERGENCY EXISTg; AND PROVIDING AN IMMEDIATE
EFFECTIVE DATE.
~IEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has found that it
is necessary in the public interest to regulate the licensing of
psychologistm in Collier County, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners did on July 31,
1979 enact Ordinance No. 79-55 to provide, among other things,
for the establishment of a Board of Psychology Practice Licenee
Appeals, and
W~REAS, said Board is empowered, .among other things, to
review the qualifications of persons a~plying ~o% a license to
practice psychology in Collier County and to determine whether
said persons meet the standards set forth in said ordinance, and
~{EREAS, said ordinance provides that the members of said
Board be licensed psychologists practising in Collier County, and
W]IEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners finds that. it is
not necessary for the m.~mbers of said board be licensed psy-
chologists practising in Collier County and that said
can be administered properly by non-licensed persons f~iliar~
with the practice of psychology,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
SIONERS that:
Section 1. Section 7.(b) of Ordinance No. 79-55 is hereby
amended to read as follows:
(b)
The Board shall consist of three (3) persons
familiar with the practice of psychology and the
initial members, of the Board are..
William A. Love, Jr., Ph.D~
Edward Rote, Ph.D.
Russ Masterson, Ph.D.
Section 2. Be it declared Chat an emer§ency exists end the
immediate enactment of this Ordinance is ~pcessary, tharefoze,
notice requirements are waived and this Ordinance shall take
effect immediately upon its placement in the United States mail
to the Secretary of State.
Section 3. The provisions of this Ordinance shall remain in
full force and effect only until December 31, 1979, at which tim~
it shall be deemed repealed.
