AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 78-66
BY REPEALING THE EXISTING GRANDFATHER PROVISION OF
ORDINANCE NO. 78-66 AND CREATING A NEW GRANDFAthER
PROVISION FOR ORDINANCE NO. 78-66; PROVIDING FOR
AN ~&ERGENCY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the grandfather provision of Collier County
Ordinance No. 78-66 requires that the applicant possess an
occupational license on the effective date of Ordinance 78-02;
and
WHEREAS, experience has shown that a number of individuals
who would otherwise qualify for competency cards as mobile
home installation contractors under 78-66 did not possess
occupational licenses until after the effectiv~date of-~
78-02; and -
WHEREAS, it was the intent of Collier Cou~l~dina~e.~
No. 78-66 to grandfather those individuals; '-'
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD.~DZ~OUNT~

COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY that
SECTION ONE:
Collier Count), Ordinance No. 78-66 is hereby amended
by repealing SECTION TWO of Collier County Ordinance
No. 78-66 and substituting in its place the following:
SECTION TWO: Grandfather Provision.
Any applicant for the above-created specialty
license shall not be required to take a qualifyin
examination if on the effective date of Ordnance__
No. 78-66 the applicant, or its qualifying ~ent CO I--
possessed an occupational license for Colli~ o
County in the specialty trade for which app]~lcatiom
is made. An occupational license in the specialty
trade created above shall be deemed to be any
occupational license under which the County has
previously issued the building permits which allow
the applicant to install mobile homes in the
manner set out in the ~bove-created category. In
order to qualify for this exemption, the applicant
must make application for a Certificate of Competency
between the dates of December 1, 1978 and April
1, 1979.
SECTION T~O: Declaration of Emergency and Effective Date.
The Board of County Co~=nissioners of Collier County at
its regular meeting has waived all notice requirements of
the Florida Statutes by at least 4/Sths vote of its membership.
It has found that an emergency exists and that immediate
enactment of' this Ordinance is necessary.
The Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners is
hereby directed to. cause to be filed with the Department of
State certified copies of this Ordinance as soon as is
practicable.
This Ordinance shall take effect upon being accepted by
the postal authorities of the government of the United
States for special delivery by registered mail to the Department
of State.
